These terms explain what Dial Your Shot provides, what users can expect, and what kinds of behaviour are not allowed. The service is educational, account sign-in is optional, and saved presets are provided only to support the app features you choose to use.
By accessing or using Dial Your Shot (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Dial Your Shot is operated by PiroTechnique. References to "we", "us", and "our" in these terms refer to the operator of the Service.
Dial Your Shot is a browser-based espresso guidance tool. The Service provides educational and informational suggestions based on user inputs. It is not professional, technical, safety, medical, or commercial advice, and it does not guarantee any particular brewing, taste, or equipment outcome.
The Service also includes Coffee Theory, a collection of educational articles about espresso science, brewing technique, and related topics. These articles are informational only and are subject to the same disclaimer: they do not constitute professional advice of any kind.
The Service offers optional sign-in via Google. By signing in, you create an account that allows you to save espresso presets to our servers and retrieve them across devices or sessions.
You are responsible for the accuracy of any username you choose. Usernames must be at least 2 characters and may not impersonate another person or contain offensive content. We reserve the right to remove or modify usernames that violate these requirements.
You may delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Account deletion permanently and irreversibly removes your user record, all saved presets, all game progress and career completions, all daily challenge entries, and all leaderboard entries from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
You may also use the Service without creating an account. Guest users can access all espresso guidance features but cannot save presets to the server.
When you save a preset, the espresso parameters you entered (dose, yield, extraction time, temperature, pressure, pre-infusion, roast level, bean freshness, grind distribution, and grind size settings) are stored on our servers and associated with your account.
You retain ownership of the data you submit. By saving presets, you grant us the right to store and retrieve that data on your behalf for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not use your preset data for any purpose other than delivering the Service to you.
You may use the Service for personal and lawful purposes only. You must not:
The Service includes Dial It In, a free browser-based espresso training game. The following rules apply when using the game:
Unless otherwise stated, the Service — including its design, text, branding, software, graphics, original content, and all Coffee Theory blog articles — is owned by or licensed to PiroTechnique and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may share or quote brief excerpts from blog articles with attribution; reproduction of full articles without permission is not permitted.
The Service uses Google Sign-In for authentication. Use of Google Sign-In is subject to Google's Terms of Service. The Service may also load or link to other third-party services, including Google Fonts, analytics providers, and external sites such as Ko-fi. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party services.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, or network configuration.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, or reliability.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights where such rights apply.
We may suspend or restrict access to the Service if we reasonably believe these terms are being violated or if necessary to protect the Service, users, or third parties. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your Profile page.
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's place of residence, excluding conflict-of-law rules, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that may apply in your jurisdiction. Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve the issue informally.
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted on this page. The "Last updated" date shows when the latest revision was made.
