Dial Your Shot is operated by PiroTechnique. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit or use the Service.
The Service collects different types of information depending on whether you use it as a guest or as a signed-in user.
If you use the Service without signing in, only browser-side preference cookies are stored (see section 3). No personal information is collected, and no espresso parameters are stored on our servers.
When you sign in with Google, we receive the following information from Google:
We store this information in our database alongside a user-chosen username (set during first login), account creation and last-login timestamps, and any espresso presets you explicitly save through the app.
Saved presets include all espresso parameters you entered at the time of saving: dose, yield, extraction time, water temperature, machine pressure, pre-infusion setting, roast level, bean freshness, grind distribution, and grind size settings (current, finest, coarsest, and direction).
The Service stores the following preference cookies in your browser:
ecc_lang — preferred display languageecc_units — preferred unit systemecc_temp — preferred temperature unitecc_theme — preferred visual themeThese cookies are used for functionality only — they remember your settings between visits. They are not used for advertising or tracking. They remain on your device for up to 365 days unless you clear them sooner.
When you sign in, Google authentication also sets a session cookie to maintain your logged-in state. This cookie is necessary for the sign-in functionality to work and expires when your session ends or after a defined period.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except as described in this policy.
When you access the Service, technical data may be processed by the hosting environment and network infrastructure, including IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps, referrer, and basic diagnostic information. This may be used for security, fraud prevention, performance monitoring, debugging, and service reliability.
The Service uses Umami Analytics to understand aggregate usage. Depending on configuration, analytics may process information such as pages viewed, referrer, browser type, device type, and approximate location derived from IP address. Analytics are not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling individual users.
The Service uses Google Sign-In for authentication. By signing in with Google, you are subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We request only the minimum permissions necessary: your email address and basic profile information (name and Google ID). We do not request access to your Google Drive, contacts, calendar, or any other Google services.
The Service also uses Google Fonts to load the Inter typeface. When your browser requests font resources from Google, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
The Service may link to external websites, including Ko-fi. If you visit an external site, that site's own privacy notice applies.
Your account data (Google ID, email, display name, username) and all saved presets are retained for as long as you maintain an account with the Service.
You may delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Deleting your account permanently and irreversibly removes your user record and all associated saved presets from our database. This action cannot be undone. After deletion, you are automatically signed out.
Preference cookies remain on your device until they expire or are manually deleted through your browser settings.
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: providing the Service you requested (contract performance), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.
Depending on your location, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing. You may exercise the right to deletion directly by deleting your account from the Profile page. For other requests, contact us at the address below.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
The Service may be accessed from multiple countries. Third-party providers (including Google) may process data in jurisdictions different from your own. By using the Service, you acknowledge that such cross-border processing may occur where permitted by applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted on this page. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision.
